Ken and I would like to thank the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer for its dedication, compassion, and tireless work helping many women in our community in need. It is a cause close to our hearts, and this year the Coalition celebrated 10 years of outreach at Leonard’s of Great Neck honoring Ken Kelly (Kitchen Designs) and the “Men of Outreach.” The showcase included a vendor sale, silent auction, fashion show, fabulous dinner, and inspirational speakers with funds raised in record numbers. Fashion models were breast cancer survivors styled in clothing from Gallery Couture and hair by Nubest.
Throughout the years, volunteers and supporters have maintained a commitment to finding a cure for cancer. To date MWCABC has awarded almost $3 million in grants to breast cancer research. At its core, the Outreach Program is one of neighbor helping neighbor in Manhasset and other local Long Island communities offering assistance during the weeks following a diagnosis or recurrence of the disease. The army of volunteers delivers meals to patients’ kitchens, offers compassionate emotional support to the entire family, and provides services that include holistic health coaching and other wellness classes. Additionally, their Extended Cancer Care program provides assistance to women diagnosed with ovarian or other cancers.
There are many ways to support the program, and every small step can help in a tremendous way. You can even attend one of the MWCABC Kitchen Classics cooking workshops offered at our showroom each season. Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly is proud to support the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer, and we encourage all Long Islanders to get involved in some small way to help support this important research. Laundry Room Layout Ideas
When planning the layout of the laundry room space, include as much cabinetry as possible for ample storage, a countertop folding area, good room lighting, and ideally a hanging area, a hamper area, a sink, and maybe some open shelves. You will want plenty of storage for accessories, linens, hampers, detergents, and cleaning supplies. An ideal laundry room includes room to fold clothes, iron, and store sewing and craft supplies for true convenience. Larger families often opt for a double set of washers and dryers. We also offer retractable clothes lines and hide-away ironing boards that are built into the cabinetry and then stored when not in use.
