Irish Soda Bread

Ingredients List

2 Cups of flour
2 Tablespoons of Sugar
2 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoons of Baking Soda
1 Cups of Raisins (Dole if possible)
1 Tablespoons of Caraway Seeds
3 Tablespoons of Butter or Marg. Soften
¾ Cups of Buttermilk
¼ Cups of Milk

Directions

1 Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees

2 Mix: Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Raisins and Seeds. Blend in softened Butter.

3 Mix in both milks (start with spoon then use your hands). Kneed on floured board for about 1 minute. Place 2 inch high ball onto greased cookie sheet. With a floured knife make an X across the top of dough.

4 Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Tap the center of the bread with a spoon it should sound hollow if it is done. Once out of the oven, brush top with melted butter and cool on a rack.
