grandma's rice pudding

Ingredients List

6 cups milk (any kind)
1 cup medium grain, arborio, or sushi rice
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup raisins
1/2 cup heavy cream or condensed milk
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter

Directions

1In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, rice, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, raisins and cook. Lower heat and cook for 30-45 minutes until rice is cooked. Add condensed milk and butter at the end of the cooking cycle. Check thickness and add more milk if necessary to reduce to desired consistency.

2 Note: If you have a steamer, you can mix all ingredients together cook it in the steamer, again adding cream and butter at the end of the cycle. Set timer for 30 minutes.
