Inspired by the clients’ ideas and wish list, certified kitchen designer at Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly – Taine D’Agostino (CKD, ASID, NCIDQ) designed this transitional kitchen for an East Hills, Long Island client by merging the sleek look of contemporary design with the warmth of a traditional kitchen. The designer restructured the room, opened walls, and closed in a skylight, which facilitated a better great-room flow that allowed for a dining area, kitchen island, and spectacular lighting.
This impeccable kitchen combines understated clean lines with exquisite finishing touches like the contrasting Bubblicious glass tile with sparkle grout that accents the cooktop and stainless hood providing a perfect focal point. The backsplash is comprised of gray glass subway tile. Every inch and surface has been designed for maximum function and minimum clutter. The kitchen island showcases spacious prep and seating areas, a large single bowl stainless sink, and unbeatable storage.
The cabinetry is a rich dark wood from Wood-Mode’s Brookhaven line in a Bistro on Cherry finish. The Wood Mode Vista doorstyle is a flat veneered panel with contrasting square pull stainless steel hardware from Top Knobs (M1155). The quartz countertops are by Silestone in White Zeus with an eased edge profile. The kitchen design emotes a restrained elegance that transitions seamlessly to the to the dining area, and most cooks would crave its suite of GE Monogram appliances including a GE 30″ Induction Cooktop… also available at AJ Madison.
The resulting open-plan kitchen is as much about socializing, entertaining, and relaxing as it is about cooking. The kitchen is functional and beautiful and has become the family’s favorite room to unwind, create special meals, and share precious time with family and friends.
