Garden City Kitchen Design with Custom Tiffany Blue Color in NY
This client wanted us to create a custom color similar to Tiffany’s blue to accent the kitchen island and range hood and give the kitchen that WOW factor. It was very important to the client that we do a complete restoration (not just a renovation) to historically preserve their 1930’s Garden City home. Ken designed the kitchen layout carefully protecting the architectural integrity of the home. If you look closely at the unique arched doorways, Ken had to match the molding to the original early 1900’s home by making a custom knife to cut the new moldings and making a custom jig to shape the radius corners. We also opened the rear staircase to expose the back staircase between the pantry and the kitchen. The floor in the pantry and in the anti foyer is a gorgeous water-jet cut marble tile made of 73 separate pieces in each medallion.
The main kitchen floor is stunning black and white marble, and the backsplash is porcelain tile. All the cabinetry is custom from Kitchen Designs Ken Kelly Signature Collection. The glass cabinet doors are true leaded glass that were custom made with the a special custom-mixed blue interior to match the island and the range hood. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances include a Wolf oven, steam oven, and microwave, an 18″ freezer column, a 30″ refrigerator column, and a 30″ tall wine refrigerator.
