Elegant and Timeless

Low Maintenance

Wood Mode Gallery, Linear Solutions

Wood-Mode Contemporary Kitchen – Linear Solutions

A unique combination of materials and simple geometric shapes help define this contemporary European style space as low maintenance yet highly sophisticated. Carefully selected materials and shapes are arranged within a loosely structured grid help to integrate this space with its urban environment.

A host of indirect lighting gives added dimension to the sculptural affects of the room’s cabinetry. The vertical grained bamboo veneer of the cabinetry plays out against the strong horizontals in the cantilevered peninsula and wall shelf. Cubic forms carried by the fused glass hood, tall cabinetry and the island reflect the feel of the city skyline, especially at night. To enhance its impact, ornamentation is limited. Decorative hardware is minimal, except for where it is intended to be the focus, as we see in the tall refrigeration and storage unit. The apparent contrast in thickness between the quartz countertop and the thinner dimension of the stainless steel repeats the sculpture of the hood and the shelf above the sink.
