Black and White Kitchen Lloyd Neck, NY
This elegant black and white kitchen in Lloyd Neck, NY was part of a project that included the expansion and renovation of 23 rooms in an estate home and was the collaborative effort of the client, architect Michael Wallin, Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly, and Greg Lanza Interior Design. The divided floor plan in this kitchen creates a large open space while maintaining the correct proportions of a traditional style home. The result is a timeless look with inset cabinets in black and white that were stripped of any extra ornamentation. Incorporating black and white kitchen finishes helped define the beauty and quality of the custom Wood-Mode custom cabinetry. The marble counters offer limitless expanse for meal preparation and serve as a buffet for frequent entertaining. The “demonstration-style” island seating creates a perfect host-to-guest social setting. It also serves the family well when the kids do their homework at the kitchen island while mom and dad prepare dinner. The island top is mahogany, which softens and adds contrast to the beautiful white Statuary marble. Traditional architectural elements were included in the moldings and trim, and surface-mount lighting replaced most of the expected high-hats. Recessed halogen spots are the direct light source for the island’s work surface, keeping the air space above clutter free. The SubZero refrigeration and Wolf range added a professional touch to the space. Read more details here…
Cabinetry Used: Wood-Mode’s Cambridge Square Recessed doorstyle with a perimeter finish in Nordic White on maple. The island and desk hutch are Cottage Black with brown undertones in a our distressing package #4.
