Organize Your Pantry with the Best Containers For Your Space

Lifestyle Design Ideas

Sometimes getting your pantry organized is all about having the right tools and the best containers. (photo above via Be It Ever So Humble)

Having the same size containers or jars in a row on one shelf is a great look. I have gathered a collection of Kitchen Designs favorites in the grid below. You might like the OXO Good Grips set as they are airtight, stackable and space-efficient, making it easy to keep your dry foods fresh and your kitchen organized.

I use Ball jars or glass Bormioli storage jars to store rice and yogurt bar necessities. By that I mean all the fixings to make a morning yogurt concoction. Stored in my glass jars are a variety of nuts, raisins, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, dark chocolate chips, granola, unsweetened coconut, and PB2. The kids love having the control when mixing their own healthy breakfast. I also use them to freeze leftover soups and to make “salads to go.” I drop a few salad fixings into several jars and leave in the refrigerator. In the morning, I grab a ready-made salad jar when running out to the office. I was happily surprised to see that the kids reached for them as well when they opened the refrigerator and all that color is staring them in the face! Throw some grapes in a glass jar, and watch them ditch the cookies. My theory is provide healthy options then can see.

Snapware is great for keeping flour and sugar fresh. The 23 cup size can store an entire 5 lb bag. I don’t even take the flour out of the paper. I just drop the entire bag in. This size also easily fits a few boxed cake mixes. I purchased 12 in this size to cover three shelves because I also use them to store other baking items like jars of sprinkles, cake decorating tools, extracts, baking powder, baking soda, etc.

For cooked food storage and leftovers, there is nothing like glass. Setting yourself up requires an initial investment, but you will have great pieces that last, look nice, and keep your organized. For the pantry to function properly and perform well, you need the right tools to keep everything within reach and at your fingertips. Be sure to ruthlessly purge any items you don’t use when getting organized and you will be so happy you invested the time to set this up. Here are some of our designers’ favorites for the organized pantry. (Note: This post contains affiliate links, which means we receive a few pennies if you make a purchase using these links.
