Your Top 24 Favorite Kitchen Gadgets You Can’t Live Without

Last week we asked the same question to a variety of people in an informal survey … What item(s) can’t you live without in your kitchens? … We proposed the question to followers on Facebook & Twitter to showroom clients and personal friends. The answers ranged from knives to wives. Yes, someone on Facebook said he couldn’t live without his wife in the kitchen – so SWEET!  Someone else emailed that he can’t live without the mess. Maybe he misunderstood the question, or he just likes a messy kitchen. Several of you can’t live without your KitchenAid mixers, and some of you have suggested some very cool kitchen gadgets below that I may now have to add to my own kitchen collection. So here you have it — your top 24 Favorite Kitchen Gadgets:

By the way, if you wish to add any of these to your kitchen, you can purchase through our affiliates at AmazonCooking.comShopKitchenAidZappos, etc. (See resource list below).  I am thinking about those Viking nonstick frying pans (Item #22). Someone from Albany, NY raved about those pans, and frankly I’m tired of losing half my eggs to the all-stainless fry pans I currently use. I’m also wondering about that immersion blender (Item #10). I would imagine that is great for making soups. My favorites (I added these to the list) are #9 – InSinkerator Instant Hot & Cold (I have this unit plumbed to my bottled water and house the dispenser in the garage), #13 Norpro Tongs (Great for salad and serving just about anything) and #16 – my Pampered Chef chopper (I use this almost every day). Do you use any of these items? What is your best kitchen detail, gadget, or appliance? We’d love to know. Feel free to place links in the comments.

  1. Immersion blenders are indeed a godsend for making soups. Any time I make potato soup, broccoli soup, or corn chowder, my “boat motor” blender is always close at hand!

  2. You may have sold me then, Keith. Those soups sound amazing. Send me some recipes — I love corn chowder. BTW, PA’s not that far; do you deliver?

  3. Thanks for sharing this list! This list pretty much sums its all up – these are the most kitchen gadgets one could think of. Its always nice to the blender in that list, although I am kinda missing the meat-cleaver. A nice sturdy cleaver always comes in handy around the kitchen.

  4. Thanks Karen, and yes a meat cleaver is a great addition!
