Let’s Tangerine Tango with Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year

Dare to use Tangerine Tango in your kitchen?

Pine Cone Hill Madeline Terracotta Quilted Placemat Set of 4Pantone’s 2012 color of the year is an energized, appetizing orange red hue sure to add a little heat in the kitchen.  Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, told the Associated Press (Washington Post), “There’s the element of encouragement with orange, it’s building on the ideas of courage and action, that we want to move on to better things. I think it would be a disservice to go with a relaxed, soothing color now,”

The subtle hint of red makes it a much better version of the 1960s orange shag rug I grew up with. Incorporate this high- impact hue in the kitchen to spice things up with a pop of color. If you’re not up for cabinetry in this color, think tabletop accessories, wall paint, appliances, small electronics…

Let’s Tango…
