Wide Plank Floors – Perfect for Kitchens!

Wide plank floor lovers have a new reason to celebrate! Carlisle Wide Plank Floors just opened a new showroom in the Architects & Design Building in New York City at 150 East 58th St., New York, N.Y. Ken and I stopped by to say hello on opening night where we were greeted with great wine, wonderful hors d’oeuvres, and a live DJ. While there, we discovered a “must have” walnut floor that is just perfect for the great-room (currently under renovation) in our Williston Park Showroom.

For more than 40 years, Carlisle Wide Plank Floors has produced the finest restoration and reproduction wood floors in the world. Their efforts to care for the environment have been nationally recognized by the Forest Stewardship Council. They handcraft each plank, one at a time, and their motto is… “One board at a time, one project at a time, one customer at a time.”

What we like is their ability to give us very wide and very long boards for truly custom installations. Here is a sampling of some of their floors. Visit their website at wideplankflooring.com.

  1. Thank you for sharing this post! I looked at the website and the wide plank floors seem excellent quality. Carlisle Wide Plank Floors provide a fantastic range of wooden floors that are great for kitchens but also for living areas. I think an open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a wide plank floor looks spectacular. The white oak rank is definitely my favourite. Have you seen these wide plank floors before? I think their wide plank wood flooring look great as well.
