Personalized Gift Idea with a Personal Story – What is your favorite gift “giving” memory?
A few years ago someone gave me a throw blanket with my children’s photograph woven into the threads, and to this day, it is my favorite gift of all time. I found the company and bought one for the grandparents. A custom blanket is so personal and makes a great gift for grandparents, parents, teachers, sports teams, coaches, and friends. I’ve also used them for school fundraisers where we converted the children’s art into a throw (see idea sample photo below). It couldn’t be easier; you take a digital photo and upload it when checking out.
I was amazed at the graphic definition and how the images become the actual stitching for these products. They are not printed, embroidered or silk screened. The image is woven into the weave and is as crisp and clear as can be. I’ve used mine for three years, and the images will not fade or wash off. Blankets are 100% cotton. The company also makes other fun things such as towels, photo collage soccer balls, totes, and pillows. Visit BlanketWorx LLC to see their complete line.

Last year, we got together as a family and decided to “forgo” gifts to each other and pool our “would be” gifts in order to purchase a computer system for someone we love dearly. The reaction –shock and gratitude– on the receiver’s face was our greatest gift. Afterwards, my kids told me it was the best gift they ever got!
That is a great story that your kids gift was giving a present to someone else, wow. Mine was from my boyfriend. It was a carriage ride around Central Park at Christmas time when he proposed.
So Romantic. Love i!
