1964 Kitchen of the Future – NY World’s Fair

Yesterday I started a series entitled “Can You Name That Famous Kitchen,” and I was bombarded with emails asking about this oven (photo below) – See yesterday’s Game Clue Here. Answers will be revealed tomorrow (Friday).

This oven was introduced at New York’s Worlds Fair in 1964 in Frigidaire’s Kitchen of the future (see video clip below). I think in all our years, Kitchen Designs has only ripped out one or two of these. This video shows numerous “FUTURE” kitchens of 1964 — it’s a great clip. ENJOY!

  1. Hi Grace,
This is fun! What a great idea. Harder than I thought, though. I actually saw one of these ovens at a house for sale in Huntington a few months back. Who would’ve thought!

  2. Thanks Kerry. I hear they are selling well on eBay – a bonus to the buyer.
