2010-New Colors of Corian Countertops Offer Great Alternative to Marble
At the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS 2010) we had the opportunity to see eight new reflective metallic colors of DuPont™ Corian® (Aqualite, Olivite, Azurite, Silverite, Sorrel, Graylite, Bronzite, Copperite) as well as the new Designer White and Cottage Lane, inspired by nature. If you want a marble look without the staining, chipping, and maintenance issues of real marble take a close look at some of the Corian alternatives such as Sorrell shown in this kitchen.
Typically, this material is used for countertops, backsplashes, vanity tops, interior wall surfaces, tub and shower surrounds, desktops and windowsills. Some of the colors have a unique translucency, which makes it an ideal choice for illuminating–especially outdoor kitchens. Our Kitchen Designs Facebook page has a video clip of the illuminated outdoor Corian countertop on display in our showroom. Corian runs approximately $40 – $80 per square foot installed and includes a 10-year residential installed, transferable limited warranty.
