Bird Friendly Glass Solutions for Architects, Builders and Homeowners

Unique & Humorous Design

I read about bird friendly glass on the Bear Glass Blog, and it is fascinating. It is a great solution for architects, builders, and homeowners. To prevent millions of birds from being killed when colliding with glass on buildings, they have developed bird-friendly glass that has a patterned, UV reflective coating making it visible to birds while remaining virtually transparent to the human eye. This glass was first introduced in 2006 in Europe and is now available in North America.

See the full story here on their blog. Architects, builders, and homeowners can now specify glass that is attractive while providing enough visual noise in order to alert birds of the barrier. We would love to see designers, architects, and builders consider bird glass for new construction projects.

How great is this !
